"If you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person."

This week Here We Collide asked you to bring a smile to someones face by leaving a quip of encouragement placed on a Post-It for anyone to find. For all those who participated in this week’s Collective, thank you. Here you have our final submission:

I love the idea of leaving random notes for people, I’ve actually been doing it sporadically for a while now. This week I made a bunch and put them around my campus: In the community bathroom in our dorm, the stairwell, on a bench on the mall, on a table in the dining hall, and on a door in one of the academic buildings. Some of them have lasted for a whole week! It’s really exciting to leave little surprises for people. My hope is that one of my notes will reach at least one person who needs to read what it has to say right then. That would make this all worth it, even if I never know.

The huge problems we deal with every day are actually really small. We’re so focused on what bothers us that we don’t even try to see our lives from a clearer perspective.

The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. The most you can do is live inside that hope, running down its hallways, touching the walls on both sides.

Amy Shackleton create pieces of art by simply squeezing paint onto a blank canvas and then rotating the canvas to control how the paint drips. Watch this time-lapse video to see Amy create a beautiful urban landscape diptych.
